Avery-In Our Hearts September 2008-July 2023

Avery is from our original pairing. We got her as a puppy in 2008. Despite trying our best to do the right testing at the right times, we found out after a veterinary change that Avery's hips were very loose and she has significant food and environmental allergies. We have been with our current vet since 2010 and we attribute her long life to their care. She gets prescription food and allergy meds. She is a great puppy trainer and snuggler. She got her CGC in 2021 at almost 13 years old. We didn't need to teach this old dog new tricks.

Caramel-Female

Caramel joined our family in June of 2019. We promised the kids puppies after Gunner passed in May of 2018. It took a while for us to find the right match. We originally planned on a black female, but our daughter, Grace, wanted a yellow lab. We got Caramel from 3 Ring Kennels in southeast Kansas. She is gentle and loving. She absolutely loves her people. From the beginning I had hoped she might be suited for a pet therapy dog, but we waited to see what her temperament was like. Caramel has had more than seven group classes as of summer of 2022. From basic obedience, Rally-Obedience, and Pet Therapy. Next up, Gracey wants to start Agility with her. Caramel has her CGC and Tricks Novice through AKC. She passed all her Pet Therapy courses in the summer of 2022 and is serving through Compassus Hospice Care in Nursing Homes and as a 'Greeter' for a Celebrate Recovery Group. We love her dearly and all the joy she brings to our family. She is worth every yellow hair on my predominately black wardrobe. Caramel's coat trait genetics allows her to have black and/or yellow puppies.

Blackberry-Female

Blackberry joined us in August of 2019. William got to pick her name and he chose one of his favorite summer treats. Blackberry is a smaller framed, highly muscled female. She is independent, yet devoted. She is high energy and loves to learn. We love her spunk and agility. Blackberry is a formally trained waterfowl retriever. She has her AKC Canine Good Citizen, Tricks Novice and Tricks Intermediate. She has great drive and loves to work! Blackberry's coat trait genetics allow her to have only black puppies.

Posy-Female

Posy is out of our 2021 (Caramel x Tycho) litter. She is our daughter's dog and Gracey has done virtually all of her training. Grace is attending group classes with her (with our supervision) and plans to get her Canine Good Citizen, Tricks Novice and work on Agility. I would like to see her do some scent work as well. Posy has a great personality and enjoys learning, playing tug, and retrieving anything you throw for her. She was one of the higher confidence and drive females from that litter. Pending her training and health screenings, we hope to use Posy as a future Dam in our program. Posy's coat trait will allow her to have all three colors: black, yellow and chocolate.

Cash-Stud

Cash is out of our 2021 (Caramel x Tycho) litter. He is Ben's dog, but don't tell William. Cash was at the top with another male on our confidence and drive assessments from that litter. Cash is training in Oklahoma to be a Hunting Retriever and has his Hunting Retriever and on pass towards become a Hunting Retriever Champion. I love working with Cash. He is so driven, but he is also the sweetest boy. Once we get him back from all his formal traning, I plan to go through pet therapy training with him. He is the best of both worlds.
